Doctoral Hood
Description
The body of the hood is constructed of dark blue polyester crepe and plush velvet. Royal Blue velvet denotes the Ph.D. degree and Kelly Green velvet denoted the M.D. degree. The hood is lined with luminous satin in blue and gold, signifying the University of California’s colors. The entire hood is finished with gold satin trim.
All University of California Doctoral graduates wear the same officially designed UC regalia.

Perfect Replacement Hood
My original regalia (PhD ’78) has held up well, except the blue part of the hood lining had faded to faint purple so that it looked more like a UW hood than a UC hood. So even though I have only a few commencements to go, it need to be replaced. Quality looks great and the price represents real value. Very pleased.

The hood is beautiful!
There is no comparison to the hood provided by the university store. The fabric is rich and heavy. the stitching clean and even. I am so happy with the master's hood I purchased from CapGown and now, my son's doctoral hood.
