UC Berkeley EOP Graduation Gown Lending Project
CAPGOWN has once again partnered with the UC Berkeley Educational Opportunity Program's Graduation Gown Lending Project for Spring 20202 Graduation!
We are excited to be able to give back to the UC Berkeley community to offer first-generation, low-income, and historically underrepresented graduate students free rentals of our premium UC Ph.D. Regalia.
The Graduation Gown Lending Project was conceived by the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) in 2013 to help alleviate some of the financial burdens graduation expenses bring to students. CAPGOWN is thrilled to work with this program to help ensure Ph.D. & JD students experience this special graduation day they have worked so hard to earn.
The application for Spring 2020 will open on Monday February 21, 2020, and close on Tuesday, April 10, 2020, at 11:59 pm. Applicants should receive a confirmation email within two weeks after applying about whether they have been accepted or not.
The Graduation Gown Lending Project is a resource that is only offered to students that qualify as EOP. In order to qualify for the project, a student must either be 1) Low-income and/or 2) First Generation and/or 3) Historically Underrepresented. If you fall under one of these categories, then you can apply for this resource!
Interested Ph.D. & JD students can learn more about the Graduation Gown Lending Project HERE and may apply HERE.
Approved graduates may try on our regalia at Stiles Hall 72F-(MLK Basement) prior to placing their orders. Dates and times twill be announced at a later date.
If you are graduating from a different University and are in need of a free rental, visit CAPGOWN's Regalia Match page for more information.
