Ph.D. Regalia Attire

The University of California Doctoral Gown is in UC Blue with gold piping. The Doctoral Hood has a UC Blue velvet trim with UC Blue and Gold lining. The cap comes with a gold silky tassel but can be upgraded to a gold bullion tassel (Ph.D. Only).

Quick History of UCSF

UC San Francisco is a research university in San Francisco, California, and is part of the UC school system. With a total of five campuses, UCSF has four throughout San Francisco and one campus in Fresno. The university is ranked as one of the top universities in the medical field worldwide. The school was originally founded as the Toland Medical College in 1864, and later became a part of the University of California system in 1873. The University of California, San Francisco is considered the oldest and one of the most selective medical schools in the nation.

Mascot

Although the university has no athletic teams, they still show school spirit in the form of their simple mascot, a Bear. There is a sculpture of a Bear and a Cub just outside of the Kalmanovitz Library.

UCSF is a unique campus because they only perform biomedical and patient-centered research. The university is at the center of innovative biological and medical research. The campus is solely dedicated to health science studies, divided into separate schools such as Schools of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy and its Graduate Division.
